The Koki 5500 series, which was in operation throughout Japan during the Japan National Railways era, was introduced in 1959 as the Chiki 5000 series.
It was used as the container express “Takara”, but from the cars manufactured in 1967, the side shape was changed to a sleeker one, and a total of 1,555 cars were manufactured.
Around 1972, the number of containers was modified from 5 to 4. This product uses this 4-container model as the prototype. It can be used with any traction machine, from steam locomotives to modern locomotives.
