The Wilesco Steam Roller Old Smoky D368 black/nickel
The Old Smoky steam roller in black/nickel is another color variation that is interesting for collectors and steam enthusiasts.

This model of a mobile steam engine was modeled after a widely used steam roller that served in road construction until the 1950s.

Mobile and stationary steam roller

Catwalk, chain steering and transmission coupling are standard features of our Old Smoky (black/nickel). The coupling – operated by a rod next to the driver’s cabin – allows the steam roller to be used as a stationary steam engine. The Old Smoky is powerful enough with its 230 cc boiler to pull accessories in mobile operation and drive driven models in stationary operation. The aluminum roller wheels of this steam roller are anodized and painted.

For indoor and outdoor use
Our Wilesco steam roller D368 is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. Since the Wilesco D368 has a flywheel that can be started in both directions, it can drive forwards and backwards, and the steering is done via a steering chain. During operation, the steam roller’s chimney smokes in an authentic manner. The running time with a load of original WITABS dry fuel is approximately 15 minutes.
