The Hellenic Air Force 336 Squadron was originally formed on February 25, 1943. Over the years the squadron flew numerous types of aircraft such as the F-10 that was used from December 1966 until 1993 when they re-equipped with the A-7 that flew until October 7, 2014. The A-7 aircraft were retired and replaced by the F-16 that first arrived on July 13, 2015 using call-sign Olympus Gold. F-16 028 c/n WK-8 U.S. serial 06-2117 was among the first arrivals.
