The British Army produced over 13,000 vehicles from 1940 to the end of World War II, and the 2-ton 4×2 field ambulance was a powerful vehicle for relief operations. The vehicle body was improved based on a civilian light truck, and the Army Medical Corps developed its own rear compartment.
