The KV tanks, named after the Soviet defense commissar Kliment Voroshilov, were renowned for their robust armor protection during the initial stages of World War II when they were utilized by the Red Army. This sturdy series of Soviet heavy tanks proved formidable in the face of the German invasion of the Soviet Union, particularly in the first year of conflict.
