A new detailed model of a 7 plank open wagon following the RCH 1887 specifications and modelled from the production of the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company.
Finished as Lydney Coal Company wagon number 9 in grey livery.
This new design adds to the range and specification of O gauge ready to run wagons, featuring a diecast chassis for added weight and compensation beams for smooth running. The model features the usual 9 foot wheelbase and grease lubricated axleboxes with the Gloucester company incorporated into the axlebox cover and brake block castings, features which will be reproduced on the model.
The tooling has been designed to allow the model to be produced with side doors and fixed ends, as commonly ordered by local coal merchants, or with side doors and one end door for end tipping as favoured by collieries and large consumers.
British Manufacturing –Dapol are producing these models from their factory unit in Chirk.
