Tiger Meet of the Americas was designed to operate like the NATO Tiger Meet, bringing various squadrons together for a chance to showcase differing fighter tactics through war games as well as to promote teamwork and cooperation to prepare for overseas deployment. The first TMOTA took place at AFB, Colorado in 2001 and is held every other year. In 2005 the meet took place at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho hosted by the 391st Bold Tigers FS with the Colorado ANG as the overall winner.
