Kato has released a new black Power Pack design this November, having retired the blue 22-018-1 Power Pack. It is still 100% compatible with all past accessories such as turnout control switches and signal power supplies.

The new 22-018BK-1 Power Pack Standard SX in black can also be upgraded with alternative A/C Adapters that will allow it to output greater voltage and amperage, for operating larger train layouts. Of course the base controller will still come with an A/C Adapter for out-of-the-box operation!

The new Black Power Pack Standard SX will also be found in Katos boxed track sets such as theM1andM2Master Series Oval Sets.
